|
|
I was just reading about how Chicago and area suburban police have been pushing the limits of the law and impounding vehicles. Then the fines are heavy, along with, fees to recover the vehicle. In one example, a woman had her van impounded, because Cicero police allegedly found her 16 year old brother was in the van after curfew. The original fine was as much if not more than the cost of her van. But, they reduced the fine to 390. OH, that was BIG of them.................
And some think St Germain is "third world"? What the hell do you call that? _________________ ______________________________________________________________________________

In many of the cases, the impounding of the vehicle was justified. But examples such as having your van confiscated because your 16 year old brother in your van after curfew? Thats just wrong and an example of how this country gets a little more communistic every day. _________________ ______________________________________________________________________________

| Interesting article. All about the money. Glad they mentioned Oak Park (a.k.a. communist central). The ordinances in this village are ridiculous. For example, when parking in metered lots owned by the village, they have signs which say: "Do not back into stalls". At certain times I like to back into a parking spot, which makes it a heck of a lot easier to pull out. If you back into a parking stall and pay the meter, the meter maids or police will smack a ticket on your car. I read an article in the Oak Park Journal about why this law is in effect: Reason #1...Police do not want to get out of their vehicles to look at the back plate for the registration sticker. Reason #2...Supposedly people have backed into the meter stands and destroyed them. Reason #3...people who have backed into stalls have damaged other cars. These reasons are a load of horseshit. So you're telling me, in a crowded parking lot, it's much more safe to back out of a spot with the possibility of hitting people/cars than it is to back into a spot? The article also encouraged homeowners not to back into their driveways. And if you wish to open a business in Oak Park, it will take you about 5 years to get approved through the village. |

Oak Park has the most intelligent population on earth, minus one. They have been pulling the impoundment deal in Chicago for years and years. Sorry old news.............I think I'll tow your truck tonight and ask $200 for it's return, it's my new business.

| They keep voting for them every year for the same reasons the poor people keep voting for the Dems. For years the Dems have said that the poor people should vote for us and we will take care of you. After all these years guess what, they are still poor!!! |

Speaking of how f'd up Oak Park is, listen to this...
Last weekend there was an accident on Harlem Ave (which separates Oak Park and River Forest). The two cars involved in the accident ended up on the River Forest side of Harlem Avenue. Well, the River Forest Police weren't there yet but there was this Oak Park cop driving down Harlem Ave and didn't bother to stop. He probably figured, "oh not my jurisdiction...i won't go over there to see if everyone is alright". Finally the River Forest Police showed up and they eventually had to call the Oak Park Police because the accident occured on the Oak Park side and the two cars ended up on the River Forest side. The same jag off who passed the accident in the first place ended up handling the situation afterall. Moron. LOL! Luckily the people walked away from the accident. |

Don't worry Cougar, being the only Republican in Oak Park you will be rounded up soon and deported to Wheaton.

The story was more about how the revenue generating tactic was expanding - not so much about Chicago. Everyone knows Chicago has always done this.
If Cougar gets deported to Wheaton, he'll be in the market for a home to buy. Know of any older homes for sale?
Many of these laws and ordinances in some of the rooty tooty snooty suburbs are asinine. Like not being allowed to park a pickup truck in a driveway. You can park a rusted out 1985 Chevy Impala in your drive, but how dare you park your 2010 GMC Sierra Denali.
As far as not being allowed to back into parking spots, it is no doubt all about the cops not being able to see the sticker on the plate. Your going to have to back up sometime and just as likely to hit something backing out as backing in and if people have this problem; how about learning how to drive? _________________ ______________________________________________________________________________

When you want to back into a spot, you already know if the spot is clear since you pass it. Sure you might hit a parked car and/or you might hit the meter and/or you will make a police officer get out of his car to check your back plate (I think some of these officers need the exercise!). When you back OUT of a spot, you run the risk of hitting people, hitting moving cars, and cyclists (Ern's favorite).
Also, they have green containers for trash and a blue containers for recycling. LOL
cuc_cougar...done venting for now. thinking more and more about that fabulous suburban home in Wheaton. hopefully it comes with a red jeep?? |

Could be about the included Jeep, but I heard there are life-size pictures of Obama and Gore burned into the brick. You'll have a hell of a time getting that out. _________________ ______________________________________________________________________________

| I will have to be sure and back into my parking spots when I am in downtown next Thursday. Especially since in TN you only have a rear plate. |
