Thanks to mid 30s and sunshine the last two days (the sun is getting more powerful by the day) we have an extreme variance in conditions. Anything dark and exposed to the sun, is extremely poor with little or no snow cover. Covered trails or trails that had a heavy snow cover are still great. Heavily traveled trails that are exposed to the sun are very poor. 11/15 out of Sayner out to the 11/15 split is hurting. Trail 7 from Hwy G to Wharton Lake Rd is very marginal in areas. Trail 7 by Stillwaters in the Lake Laura Rd area is marginal but then 7 North of there is decent. 15 up to the Boulder Junction T is good. Trail 11 from the Musky Hills and up to Star Lake is great, with the exception of where it hits Star Lake Rd, where small areas are melting and slushy. The portage trail also had a lot of melting.
Its that time of year, where there is still a lot of great riding to be had, but you have to travel over some crap to get there.
Pray for snow!
Wisconsin has had 19 snowmobile fatalities. Please folks - use your heads and be careful out there. Do it for yourself, your families, and your fellow riders. _________________ ______________________________________________________________________________
